About Me

I am a conductor, music educator, and arranger/orchestrator based in Sheffield, currently serving as the principal conductor for Leeds Symphony Orchestra and work frequently as a freelance conductor of the symphonic and operatic repertoires. I am a highly driven educator working for Sheffield City Council's wonderful Music Hub, and an active freelance violinist, choral singer, and arranger/orchestrator. 


My practice across all the disciplines I work in is fundamentally driven by exploring relationships between people and forging positive connections. I hold empathy and curiosity at the very top of the list of my leadership responsibilities and constantly seek to refine my creative and pedagogical processes. The insights that come from working with children and young people are revelatory in my work with advanced adult musicians and vice versa.

I strongly believe that a conductor should strive to make music-making about those who are making the music.
